On the 4th Day of Christmas, The Daily Croissant Gave to Me…
Ideas to Make Christmas Memories!
Make New Traditions, Revisit Old Ones
Yesterday I played hooky from work to make Christmas memories with my family! We saw the Christmas Spectacular (aka The Rockettes) at Radio City Music Hall and it was everything I hoped for! Seeing the Christmas show was a family tradition growing up, and I haven’t been in over 20 years! The childhood nostalgia was real. The show has changed since I last saw it and some really cool features were added, like a 3D experience and one of the best Rockette costumes I’ve seen! It was so special to bring my niece to see the show this year. The way her eyes lit up the moment Santa arrived was priceless.
If the Christmas show isn’t your thing, there are plenty of shows and holiday entertainment out there! It can get very cozy and easy to stay indoors this time of year, but make sure to spend some time out in the crisp air appreciating the season! Take a drive around the neighborhood to see all the houses lit up and decorated.
New York at Christmastime
Is there a more festive place to spend Christmas than New York City? I always get in the spirit of the season when I watch the tree lighting on T.V, or better yet see it in person! I love to peruse the Christmas markets at Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, and Union Square. Watching the ice skaters in the park with a cup of hot chocolate is such a simple pleasure I enjoy.

Bryant Park Rink

This city still gives me the chills
After visiting the Rockefeller Center tree, walk along Fifth Avenue for some of the best holiday window displays. Saks currently has Snow White themed windows if you’re a fan! Then stroll over to Bryant Park for a snack while you shop the market. There are over 20 food and beverage vendors in the market this year. My niece wanted doughnuts and I highly recommend the Doughnuttery for mini fresh fried doughnuts with over 20 flavor options. I got the Paris time flavor because what other flavor would I get?!

Mini doughnuts, less guilt!
Memories over Things
If you haven’t yet noticed the theme of the Daily Croissant Christmas, I’ve been trying to highlight the simple pleasures of the season without the need to acquire more stuff. I love gifts, but the most precious gift of all is time spent with the ones you love. The moments savored around the tree, serving with your friends, or just simply recalling all that you’re thankful for instead of what you lack are a much better investment of your time this season.
If you spend time with your loved ones, the memories you create will last a lot longer than any gift you could buy them.
Happy 4th day of The Daily Croissant Christmas! What fun activities and outings do you have planned for the upcoming weeks? Leave a comment below or on the instagram page.
