Winding down with a terrific Pouilly Fuissé
There’s absolutely nothing better than winding down during the evening and relaxing with a glass of wine in hand. And this week we uncork a Pouilly Fuissé that proves that not all wines require a food pairing.
Maison Nicolas Potel is well known around the wine world for producing wines from the Burgundy region where this 2013 Pouilly Fuissé originates.
This chardonnay features a citrusy nose with vague hints of oak. Apple, pear, grapefruit zest and limestone flavors star in this well rounded vino that is balanced with just enough minerality. All this is followed by a crisp dry finish.
Sure this wine is terrific all on its own, yet it also has the potential to shine with a variety of dishes. The mineral notes mean that it will pair well with seafood and perhaps even sushi. White meats such as veal and chicken will also shine with this wine. It may even hold up well against spicy fare such as Indian or Thai.
I highly recommend this delicious wine and suggest you pick up a bottle. The Nicolas Potel Pouilly Fuissé retails for around $15.
